With the birth of the royal baby–future heir to the throne of England–the promise in Romans 8:16-17 comes to mind. In Jewish tradition, joint-heirs were those who receive identical inheritances. Therefore, according to this passage we as Christians have the entire inheritance of Christ-all of His power and authority are already deposited in our born-again spirit!
The problem is that most Christians don't access that power because they are letting their thoughts run wild with emotion. If we can't see, hear, taste, smell or touch it, then we have a hard time believing we possess it. The moment we begin to doubt, is the moment when our feelings of worry and fear set in. Fear and faith cannot coexist and we therefore block our inheritance. On the contrary, the more we renew our mind to the Word, releasing our faith and believing we have already received our inheritance in Christ, the more we will operate in His power and experience His abundance as His rightful heir to the throne!
